BELFAST ROLLS OUT RED CARPET FOR RIDERS
Superstar Line Up Get VIP Treatment At Northern Ireland International Horse Show
Belfast is gearing up to host this year’s Northern Ireland International Horse
Show and is preparing to stage a gala welcome for the International talent
competing in town next week. Riders are travelling from all over the globe
including the USA, Belgium, France and the Netherlands to take part in the
prestigious Odyssey Arena event.

Horse Show President Joe Sloan comments: “We are now in our third year of the
Northern Ireland International Horse Show and the people of Northern Ireland
have really embraced the Event. This year The Lord Mayor will be officially
opening the Show on Thursday 23rd October with the first of seven Shows starting
at the Odyssey at 7pm that evening.”
Joe continues: “Support from Belfast City Council, Sport NI, DCAL and the
equestrian and business communities of Northern Ireland have enabled us to
continue the phenomenal success of this event in Belfast. With their support we
are also delivering community initiatives that benefit young people from all
over Northern Ireland. For example, The Odyssey Trust has made it possible for
the NSPCC to invite thousands of school children to the matinee show on Friday
whilst Sport NI have taken an active involvement in our amateur classes – making
equestrianism as a sport accessible to younger riders. Barclay Communications is
also supporting the Show by donating 1000 tickets to the Riding with the
Disabled Association. Because of this support and our corporate sponsors we are
able to attract top names from all over the world to Belfast’s premier indoor
arena.”

The International riders will be competing for a £100,000 jackpot at the
Northern Ireland International Horse Show. The names have been confirmed as
Roelof Bril and Jochen Munsterhuis from the Netherlands, Raephael Goehrs from
France, Dirk Demeersman and Pieter DeVos from Belgium and finally Beijing Gold
Medallist Laura Kraut from the USA. Laura won the Grand Prix at last year’s Show
so competition to retain her title will make for great spectating.
The Northern Ireland International Horse Show is not just about thrilling
competing and top class show-jumping, there are a variety of display acts
including Pignon and his dancing horses, the Cossacks death defying stunts,
Crufts winner Kath and collie Spice.
For the glamorous fashionistas there is also the inaugural Ladies Day on Sunday
in association with The OUTLET with £250 worth of vouchers up for grabs for the
best dressed lady, launched by our very own fashionista Miss Zoë Salmon.
