BALMORAL BEST YET FOR NORTHERN IRELAND INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW
Record Numbers Attend Odyssey National Qualifier.

Belfast (July 28, 2008) Sunday’s National Qualifier at Balmoral saw record numbers of equestrian talent from all over Ireland travel to Belfast to compete for a place in the 2008 Northern Ireland International Horse Show.


 

Northern Ireland International Horse Show Director Raymond Jess commented: “The National Qualifier at Balmoral was a great success. With the superb weather and a welcoming crowd it was a day the whole family could enjoy.”

Show President and Chairman of the Northern Ireland International Horse Show Joe Sloan thoroughly enjoyed the first National Qualifier to take place in Balmoral: “The atmosphere at Balmoral was amazing, with some of the best equestrian talent yet, all battling it out for the remaining places in October’s Show. It certainly makes you excited to see what the Northern Ireland International Horse Show will bring.”

Due to the vast numbers attending Balmoral on Sunday an additional National Qualifier has been announced for Amateurs only on August 16th at Balmoral. The Northern Ireland International Horse Show will take place from Thursday 23rd October to Sunday 26th October at the Odyssey Arena Belfast.

QUALIFIER SUCCESS AT TATTERSALLS
Local Talent Secures Coveted Places at Northern Ireland International Horse Show

Belfast (July 21, 2008) This Sunday’s National qualifier in Tattersalls saw competitors from all over the country travel to Co. Meath, to fight for a place in the Northern Ireland International Horse Show in October. Yet again, there was a great atmosphere as the competition heats up to secure a place at the Odyssey Arena. The depth of talent was very encouraging, showing how popular the Northern Ireland International Horse Show has become.
 


The facilities at Tattersalls only enhanced the experience with excellent arenas suited to the top class jumping. Show Director, Raymond Jess commented on the high standard of equestrian talent on display. “If the qualifiers are anything to go by this year’s event at the Odyssey is going to be four incredible days of show-jumping. The great support and the super weather made for an excellent day. We also witnessed one of the most exciting jump offs so far with 14 competitors battling it out in the Young Rider class. The anticipation is already beginning to build with many riders now pinning their qualification hopes on Balmoral.”

Competition comes to a head at the Odyssey Arena event in Belfast between Thursday 23rd October and Sunday 26th October. The successful qualifiers will have the opportunity to compete against the country’s top talent in the biggest indoor equestrian show in the UK. There is only one remaining qualifier left, taking place at Balmoral on the 27th July.

Wicklow, to fight for a place in the Northern Ireland International Horse Show in October. Yet again, there was a great atmosphere as the competition heats up. Competiton comes to a head at the Odyssey Arena event in Belfast between Thursday 23rd October and Sunday 26th October.

The excellent facilities at Boswell only enhanced the experience with great parking and excellent arenas suited to the top class jumping. There was a real atmosphere with last year's top talent and overall winner Lisa Priestley, making an appearance on Dollys Buzz. The 1.10m class had the largest entry of the day and Lisa yet again came home the winner. Two Northern Ireland International Horse Show Qualifiers Remain After Barnadown

This Sunday’s national qualifier in Barnadown saw equestrian talent from all over Ireland travel to Co. Wexford to compete for a place in the 2008 Northern Ireland International Horse Show.

Despite the inclement weather Raymond Jess and the Mossvale Team pulled out all stops to ensure the event was a fun day for all competitors whilst Maurice Cousin’s superb all weather arena withstood the elements with ease.

The competition was intense, especially in the Amateur Competition, where Martin Wilson on Database won, having recently returned from securing two wins at Hickstead. Mili McIntyre proved a winner once again, winning the Young Riders Class as well as being joint 1.20m winner with Jordan Coyle, from Co. Londonderry.

Northern Ireland International Horse Show Director Raymond Jess commented: “Everyone in Barnadown thoroughly enjoyed the show. We look forward to welcoming the qualified competitors to the 2008 Northern Ireland International Horse Show in the Odyssey Arena in October.”

There are only two remaining opportunities for competitors to qualify for the 2008 Northern Ireland International Horse Show: Tattersalls on 20th July and Balmoral on 27th July.

ODYSSEY QUALIFIERS OFF TO A FLYER AT MULLINGAR
Record Numbers Compete For a Place at 2008 Northern Ireland International Horse Show


Belfast (June 16, 2008) The 2008 Northern Ireland International Horse Show kicked off this Saturday with the opening qualifiers in Mullingar. Entry levels for both horses and ponies were the largest to date for the National Qualifiers. This qualifier marks the first of five throughout Ireland in the run up to October’s Show. Riders came from all parts of Ireland, including Cork, Donegal, Co. Mayo, Co. Down and Co. Antrim. The depth of talent was very encouraging, showing how popular the Northern Ireland International Horse Show has become. Competitors are vying to compete at the Odyssey Arena event between Thursday 23rd October and Sunday 26th October.



 

Show Director, Raymond Jess, spoke very highly of the superb facilities at the Mullingar Equestrian Centre, owned by the Fagan family, and of the caliber of competitor taking part in the National Qualifiers.

Raymond noted: “The Mullingar qualifiers went extremely well. With the event team, course director and facilitating hosts combining effectively to ensure all competitors had the best chance of qualifying.”

Tom McGuinness of Horseware and Amateur sponsor was one of the successful competitors qualifying and was on hand to present prizes. Beautiful rugs sponsored by Horseware were awarded to the winners in each class and rosettes down to 10th place. Both Tom and Raymond congratulated all who qualified to compete at the Northern Ireland International Horse Show.
The remaining qualifiers are: Boswell 29th June, Barnadown 6th July, Tattersalls 20th July, Balmoral 27th July.
